  • Leadership, specifically of the Church Variety

These last few years for me have been a trial, but not in a bad way. I was finally able to pursue and complete my Doctor of Education studies at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I finally found myself in a place where I could take the time to pursue the degree and do it well. My concentration was discipleship and mentoring, but my dissertation focused on leadership theory.

You might ask, “How did you end up writing about leadership theory?” Like most of us, I have experienced leadership failure, a misplaced leadership focus, and a complete lack of leadership. Bad leadership is often easy to recognize, especially in others’ actions and attitudes. Much less so when it is in our own actions and attitudes.

So here we are. Today marks the relaunch of my blog, where I will focus my energies on leadership in general, but more specifically on church leadership. Interaction and questions are welcome here as long as they are presented respectfully. Leadership is not a one-size-fits-all approach, though there are principles that we can all understand and employ.

Welcome back after an incredibly long hiatus. I hope this space is productive for all of us as we explore leadership together.
